Our Services
Long Island depends entirely on groundwater for drinking water. Due to our region’s history of agricultural and industrial activity, combined with sandy soils and shallow aquifer, certain contaminants require specialized testing.
Certified laboratory testing is the only way to determine if contaminants are present in your drinking water. New York State has established some of the strictest drinking water standards in the country which is why all our samples are analyzed by a New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) certified laboratory.
Testing allows homeowners to see exactly how their water compares to current state guidelines.
Our drinking water testing services include:
-
This foundational test checks for bacteria, metals, minerals, nutrients and key chemical indicators in your drinking water.
-
A group of manmade chemicals that can enter the groundwater. These include fuel, solvent-related chemicals and household products. VOC’s are colorless, odorless and not detectable by taste.
-
Long-Lasting industrial chemicals often referred to as “forever chemicals/plastics.” These chemicals enter the groundwater, break down very slowly and accumulate over time.
-
A man-made chemical that was commonly used as a stabilizer in industrial solvents and degreasers. Has been detected in parts of Suffolk County.
-
A pesticide historically used in Long Island agriculture. Though discontinued decades ago residues are still detected.
-
A herbicide used on turf and crops that has been detected in Long Island groundwater due to past agricultural use.
